Welcome to Lake Travis
A tranquil, relaxing escape from the busy city
A man-made reservoir flowing into the smaller Lake Austin, Lake Travis, was built to serve as a flood controller. Because of this, the water level is highly likely to change, sometimes as much as 100 feet. Found on the Colorado River, it is the most popular and biggest of the seven Highland Lakes, covering 65 miles.
Combining the conveniences of Austin with peaceful lake living, the suburb around Lake Travis is attractive to newcomers. Made up of beautiful historic and new homes, the community has something for everyone. It provides many fun outdoor activities, from boating to fishing to golf courses. The neighborhood also has a private airport for residents and their guests to use.
